There are many ways to use chia seeds in our diets. Because people are all different how much you take will depend on a few things:
If you’re in good shape already and just want to get the much-needed omega-3 in you and your families diet then for adults 10 to 25 grams is enough and 2 to 10 grams is good for kids between the ages of 5 to 12 years old. Adding chia seeds to different recipes will raise their omega-3 profile as well.
If you’re using chia for its powerful anti-inflammatory properties to help with arthritis and the aches and pains of getting older then your body will tell you what you need. Start with one and a half dessertspoons, about 15grams in the morning and adjust after 15 days. If you’re still feeling achy then add more in half measures. Remember you will still have to watch what you eat as far as fatty foods and oils as they cause inflammation. Too much omega-6 and not enough omega-3 will cause this as well.
For the very active person and athlete starting with 2 dessertspoons in the morning and filling a 600ml water bottle to drink during the day or training will replace the nutrients lost during activity. You can mix the seeds with juice or even add some lemon or lime cordial for taste. If you find it too thick just add less seed. A little is better than none at all.
For getting your blood pressure and bad cholesterol, (LDL) down you’ll have to increase your intake to between 25 to 50 grams per day. I recommend taking it twice a day and using it in as many recipes as you can to assure your getting enough and of course watch what you eat! After 3 months, both blood pressure and your LDL levels should be down.
Any and all the amounts listed above will give you the extra energy and concentration you need for the day. After 30 days of daily use you feel you’re not getting what you want from using chia I would ask you to please contact us to assist you in finding the right way for you to use it. Chia seeds are powerful in aiding weight loss and a dieters dream! Since chia seeds absorb up to 9 times their weight in water they give a feeling of satisfaction when eaten. Just a tablespoon of soaked chia seeds in juice can leave you feeling full until lunch.
Diets often leave our bodies in need of nutrition with foods and liquids that make us feel full however that effect only lasts a short time. Using chia seeds gives us nutritional richness with fewer calories and a fullness that lasts.

Chia seeds can be made into a gel that when mixed with different foods can cut calories and fat. Many sauces can be mixed 50-50 with chia gel. Including salad dressings, jams, yogurts and much, much more.
The gel forms a physical barrier between the carbohydrates and the digestive enzymes that break them down. The carbohydrates are digested eventually, but at a slow and uniform rate. There is no insulin surge or spike needed to lower the blood sugar level after eating chia.
Chia give you the energy to exercise even after a hard days work helping to keep you on track. When you see results happen you feel better about yourself and continue without being discouraged over not seeing results.
