Recipe: Chia Chocolate

By Nicole from Living Safe

Chia chocolate - full of crunchy goodness!

Ingredients

  • 200 grams chocolate (your choice of milk or dark - Living Safe recommend organic, fair-trade chocolate available from Aldi)
  • 8 tablespoons chia seeds (super crunchy!)
  • Cooking oil (e.g. rice bran oil)

Directions

Fill a bowl or pot with very hot water. Float a smaller, stainless steel bowl in the hot water and gently melt the chocolate in the smaller bowl.

Add chia seeds and mix until combined.

Coat a plastic ice cube tray with a small amount of cooking oil to prevent chocolate sticking.

Use a teaspoon to fill compartments with chocolate mixture.

Place tray in fridge to set.

When set, remove chocolates from tray. Store in fridge for up to 2 weeks, in a plastic container or glass jar.

Remember: Chia seeds absorb many times their weight in water. Be sure to drink water after eating chocolates - this is especially important for children.
