Chia Taters
Make your mashed potato as you would normally but use chia butter and chia milk instead!
We are now adding to our collection of chia seed recipes regularly (see below) so bookmark this page for easy reference. We also announce new recipes via Facebook - "Like" our Facebook page to receive our regular updates.
The beautiful thing about chia seeds is that they can be added to almost any recipe to provide all the nutritious benefits they offer to us. How you add chia to your food is really only limited by your imagination! The “stealth health” factor makes them ideal for the fussiest eaters (of any age).
We encourage you to email us with your recipes and the many ways you incorporate chia seeds into your family's diet. We will include your suggestions here for all to share.
Thank you to our loyal customers for their contributions and for sharing with their family and friends the exciting changes chia has made to their daily lives.
This is the most important recipe. Always keep some on hand to mix in a variety of things! Chia gel can replace oils in most baking recipes that call for oil or butter. It can replace eggs in many recipes as well. It can be blended or used "as is".
Mix 1 part chia seeds to 9 parts water. Whisk to break up any clumping and let stand 15 minutes. Whisk again then place in an airtight container and refrigerate. Will keep for up to 3 weeks.

100g chia gel
100g softened butter
Place the gel in a blender and blend until smooth. Add softened butter and blend until smooth. Place in airtight container and use as you would normal butter - from toast to melting for popcorn, it's great!
